“As the name suggests this is a hotel of epic proportions. Located in an historic building near Glasgow Central Station, the myriad of rooms are of varying design the best being the modern options on the top floor. Elegant reception rooms house the bar and restaurant. Ideal for a weekend stay.”

Hotel Review

Now known as the Principal Grand Central Hotel, this is the place for those seeking the prestige and amenities of a by-gone era. Although it has undergone more refurbishment but has lost none of its old world charm. Located right inside Glasgow’s Central Train Station, it is a fantastic jumping off point for train enthusiasts or anyone wishing to explore the rest of Scotland. The champagne bar overlooks the terminus of the train station; the well-lit and spacious rooms in turn have a view of central Glasgow. It is worth noting that, with popular onsite meeting rooms and pedestrian traffic, the foyer can be slightly busy. Still, it is not one to be missed by history buffs.

The Principal Grand Central Hotel

A generally stylish hotel with direct access to Glasgow Central Station, making it a great base for short stays in this culturally rich city. The lobby is great for people-watching; sink into a deep, comfy armchair and watch guests going to and from the station, just next door.
