Hotel Review

This is a hotel for those who want to be immersed in history, not for design conscious travellers. The three suites and 45 rooms are housed in 11 different 16th-, 17th- and 18th-century buildings, which line the riverside and are classified as part of the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. They offer wonderful views of Porto’s medieval quarter and the wide Douro River. The rooms are simply furnished, but like the rest of the hotel somewhat dated, although beds have excellent feather pillows and duvets. Outside the hotel, the square with its brightly painted façades, cafés and small shops is a perfect spot to watch the world go by.
