Hotel Review

This elegant and luxurious hotel in Piazza Santa Maria Novella is regularly cited as being one of Florence’s best boutique hotels, and certainly one of the first. It combines neo-classical designer panache (thanks to Architect Michele Bonan), understated luxury and a cool vibe with professional yet genuinely friendly service. Its 20 rooms vary from cosy dens to the spacious rooftop suite which has amazing 360° views across the square and the city's rooftops. Luxury en-suite marble bathrooms are complemented by own brand luxury bath and body products and all of the rooms have complimentary soft drinks in the mini-bar and a plate of organic seasonal fruit. If you have time for a work out in between seeing the sights, gelati and capuccino stops, the gym is just a two minute walk away.

Put your feet up and relax with an aperitivo (the Bloody Marys are excellent) or enjoy a candlelit dinner the J.K. Lounge - the terrace on the square is the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Expect innovative contemporary dishes with some mouth-watering traditional cuisine. There's also a rooftop terrace more reminiscent of Capri than Florence. On Sundays, there's a leisurely brunch with a generous buffet of handmade cakes, tarts, cheese, meats, hot dishes and freshly-baked bread. Breakfast is served downstairs in a lovely light-filled room.

The staff and brilliant Manager, Claudio (who has been here since day one), go out of their way to ensure you have the most memorable stay. Most of 35 staff have been concierges before, indeed Condé Nast Traveller call JK Place Firenze 'tailors of hospitality', a testament to the exceptional service given to the guests.
