“Built in 1659 Porto Antico is a stay amidst history. Location, service and price are this waterfront hotel's big selling points. For those looking for a short break in the heart of Chania, or a base for exploring, it offers an excellent compromise between style and affordability.”

Hotel Review

For those in need of a pick-me-up after a long journey, a mini-carafe of soothing honey raki awaits in your room on arrival at Porto Antico, along with an equally welcome complimentary carafe of water (provided daily). With 10 rooms (six with harbour views), Porto Antico is a smidge larger than most boutique properties in this part of town. Rooms combine unfussy colours, white plaster walls and dark veneer furniture with traditional touches (this is, after all, a Venetian-era building) and have canopied beds. Large fridges in each room can be stocked with your own drinks. There's a cosy sitting room for the use of all guests. Families looking for more spacious accommodation can opt for a separate two-bedroom, two-bath apartment that shares the hotel's facilities and also has its own kitchen. Even in high season, rooms are very competitively priced for this level of accommodation and service in this part of the world.
