Within the elegant Hospes Palacio del Bailio complex are stunning underground Roman Baths converted into a stand-out spa, complete with outdoor and indoor pools and baths, steam rooms and all sorts of treatments. Castillo de Monda has been caringly converted from an Andalucían castle in a spectacular spot, overlooking the white town of Monda, and beyond that green hills. The Finca Cortesin is a stunning golf resort on a grand scale. Everything here feels spacious and grand, from the vast pool to the high ceilings and huge art. Málaga’s Gran Hotel Miramar is palatial and historic, with only palm tress separating the hotel from the sand of Malagueta Beach. The combination of Moorish and Andalucían decor features grand, prominent archways, intricate tile designs and courtyards that look like magnificent concourses. Staying here is all about rejuvenation; their methods including saunas, a gorgeous yoga gym with a view, and a candlelit outdoor tub. They offer private dining in all sorts of charming nooks. And a babysitting service!
The Finca La Donaira is a luxurious eco-retreat and organic farm, with nine private guest suites decorated simply with natural materials and traditional techniques — but also with high end design features and original art. The hotel has a series of pools, some fed by a natural spring, and they offer yoga and meditation sessions if you need to unwind.

For a City Break

Granada’s Hospes Palacio de los Patos is an impressively large Spanish-style mansion turned 43 room hotel. Inside, the rooms have been updated with clean, straight lines, and features glass room dividers and smooth, monochrome tiles and marble. The location and restaurant are perfect for exploring, and tasting Granada and this region; the spa is state-of-the-art, and includes a sauna and Turkish hammam.
Las Casas de la Juderia is a romantic, very Andalucían feeling, hotel, converted from 27 interconnected historic townhouses in the old Jewish quarter of Seville. So it feels like something of a rabbit warren, and features a variety of original features, from pillared courtyards to gorgeous parquet and plasterwork, Moorish tiles and exposed beams. The decor includes a vast collection of antiques too. The impressive spa specialises in both aesthetic and heath treatments, and is based on ancient Roman baths.

For Great Value

The Aire Hotel is an incredibly elegant hotel in the heart of historic Almeria, with views over the old town, fortress and the Alcazaba. Underneath the 25 rooms and suites lie an arrangement of ancient Arabian baths, where you can take a relaxing candlelit thermal bath circuit.
