Hotel Overview

“Dylan Thomas once famously described Laugharne as the “strangest town in Wales.” Anyone looking to see the inspiration for his work should look no further. Home to his favourite watering hole, it has been said that Thomas would usually visit Brown's twice a day. The 18th Century Inn has since been fully refurbished but helps to keep the poet's memory alive with a host of memorabilia and a cosy snug, with a small library of Thomas related reading material. The elegantly decorated bedrooms are steeped in character- old wooden beams, exposed brick walls and fine Welsh linen. In the bar, they stock a good range of Welsh ales and serve a few light snacks. This notable address is obviously the place to stay for the avid Thomas fan - at the heart of the town, it has become an established venue for the Laugharne Weekend festival that takes place each year in April. Spend the day visiting Thomas' old homes and follow the Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk before returning for a drink in his favourite bar. ”
