Hotel Review

This whitewashed 1840s church minister's house is one of Scotland’s hidden gems. With Henrietta Fergusson firmly at the helm, who was formerly in charge at the famous Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, guests are guaranteed a warm welcome and a genuinely unpretentious stay. The ten bedrooms are pretty and homely, all different, all shapes and sizes, with an assortment of furniture, country house fabrics and prettily upholstered chairs. Some bathrooms are on the small side. Food is hearty and satisfying. The enchanting, old-fashioned, abundant garden and wooded grounds are the hotel's chief pleasure.
