Hotel Review

Located in the heart of Le Marais, Le Grand Mazarin is a luxurious retreat from the bustling streets of this bohemian arrondissement. A charming boutique hotel, it blends classical Parisian elegance with quirky design. Rooms are decorated with colourful tapestries and mismatched prints, and balconies overlook Paris’s iconic skyline, making guests feel they are in the heart of the action. An in-house hammam spa and mosaic swimming pool make it a true oasis, with friendly staff to welcome you home after a day of sightseeing. With impeccable service, the staff are both attentive and relaxed. Their vibrant energy seeps into the atmosphere of the hotel.

Already looking like the neighbourhood’s hottest spot, Le Grand Magazin’s bar and restaurant ‘Boubalé’ welcomes a trendy crowd of local visitors and hotel guests each night. The late-night basement bar hosts live DJ nights three times a week, attracting visitors looking for a good time. ‘Boubalé’ itself translates as a Yiddish term of endearment used by Ashkenazi grandmothers, and the restaurant’s Israeli executive chef Assaf Granit pays homage to his heritage. Introducing more traditional eastern European to contemporary Parisian flavours, the dishes are refreshingly unique and playful. With cocktails inspired by babaganoush, and cheesy potato dishes named ‘Like a Jewish Wedding,’ the menu sets out to break the mould — and it definitely succeeds in doing so.
