“Owned and run by a local family who returned to Symi after many years in Sydney (hence the name), the Opera House is set in its own tree-shaded gardens, far enough from the harbour to be a haven of peace but still handily close to the cafés and restaurants. The buildings are traditional, but within are rooms and suites that combine conventional wooden furnishings and colours with modern facilities. The courtyard bar is a pleasant place to hang out in the afternoon and evening.”
