“This atmospheric family house has kept its spirit – after reading the papers in the elegant drawing room, you want to tell the staff to take the rest of the day off. The bar, full of pictures of the hotel's former matriarch Ione O'Brien as well as of celebrated guests and polo players, looks out over two lawn tennis courts, a professionally designed pitch and putt golf course, putting green, croquet lawn and the tree-lined ridge of the South Downs. Bedrooms have been superbly updated, with new ones added in three cottages, and there is a new spa and heated outdoor pool. A lovely place (children and dogs welcome), in the same family since 1948 and currently in its prime. ”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
Our guests love the very relaxed ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere at Park House...it’s like going to stay with good friends....and where nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff. We get comments about the wonderfully rural and peaceful location, the beautifully decorated bedrooms, the pretty gardens, the relaxing common areas, the delicious food and the fabulous new luxury spa.

What is there to do in the area or on site?
On site guests can enjoy the wonderful new luxury PH₂0 spa – which is just across the drive from the main hotel building – and all the traditional country house hotel leisure facilities we have including two superb grass tennis courts, separate croquet and bowls lawns, a six hole Par 3 golf course, a new putting green and a heated outdoor pool with bar and sun terraces for the summer months. In the area, there are fabulous walks and the South Downs Way to explore, there are local stables for riding and great local shoots in the winter months and in the surrounding area, we have National Trust houses to explore at Petworth and Uppark, the Tudor Cowdray House house ruins in Midhurst, a leading sculpture park at The Cass Sculpture Foundation on the Goodwood estate, wonderful gardens at West Dean, the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, horse racing and car events at Goodwood, first class theatre at Chichester Festival Theatre and an aviation museum at Tangmere. For the children, Fisher’s Farm Park in Wisborough Green is a must!

The Park House breakfast is renowned and award-winning. Comprising a full English breakfast, it is indeed a best seller and gives hotel guests an extensive choice to set them up for the day ahead.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
Park House offers its guests breakfast, lunch, dinner and a traditional afternoon tea. If guests would like to eat out locally, our knowledgeable staff will be able to advise them accordingly.
