Indulge in a spot of decadence with a stay at the opulent Prestonfield House Hotel. Enjoy country house trappings a stone's throw from the Royal Mile. Rooms start at £295 B&B incl free wifi, newspaper, mineral water & bottle of champagne!
“Surrounded by gardens and parkland but minutes from the city centre, this enveloping hotel has just 23 bedrooms, yet guests are treated to an Aladdin's cave of opulence, drama and romance, from complementary champagne and chocolate on arrival to the run of three fabulously decorated drawing rooms, a whisky bar and a fine restaurant, Rhubarb. Attentive service; gorgeous bedrooms; sheer glorious indulgence.”

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
They love the historic character that has a sense of fun and is very, very unstuffy. They seem to like the theatre of Prestonfield and the sheer indulgence of a restaurant, five reception rooms, four private dining rooms, two terraces and acres of gardens for just 23 bedrooms and suites
What is there to do in the area or on site?
Edinburgh’s speciality and luxury shopping is a cab ride away as are great historic sites. On site you have croquet, a golf course, running, complimentary bikes, a gothic tea house, terraces and gardens to enjoy. In the hotel most people find a fireside spot to read, relax or enjoy a cocktail
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
A huge fresh buffet starting with home-made smoothies and different juices every day. Lots of tempting treats from our pastry chef and a great breakfast menu with Scottish delights such as porridge with honey, smoked haddock, kedgeree or the great Scottish Breakfast with haggis. Full breakfast options are included in every room rate too.
Do you offer other meals?
We do great bar and room service meals that are a real treat on the terrace in summer but dining in Rhubarb is an unmissible part of staying at Prestonfield – with dinner from £30 for 3 courses & lunch at £16.95 for two it is an affordable treat too
And can you recommend good places to eat out
locally?
We can arrange tables at our sister restaurants, the rooftop Tower or the historic Witchery by the Castle
Which are your most popular room types, and why?
All Prestonfield’s rooms are luxurious, individual and quirky but suites tend to sell out first as they offer even more space and luxury for just £70 more than a luxury room”
