Hotel Overview

“Located in Bristol’s charming cobbled harbour quarter, within ambling distance of theatres, art galleries, waterfront restaurants and night life, this large contemporary hotel makes for a great central base. Guests get to use the NCP car park next door for free which is an added boon. The hotel is part of 8 “urban havens”, all different but privately owned by the Irish Doyle family and has in recent years undergone a £14 million refurbishment. The popular restaurant serves brasserie-style food overlooking the river in what can be described as a buzzy area. Neutral-coloured generously-proportioned rooms are spotlessly clean with large comfortable beds, sumptuous bed linen, jewel-coloured silk cushions and velvet throws. Details such as chocolates on the pillow add a personal touch. Staff are young and helpful and for a city hotel you are blissfully unaware of any traffic. ”

See What They Say

“Why do people love staying in your hotel?
People love the friendliness and helpfulness of our staff. If they need assistance with choosing a cocktail, selecting a dinner dish, or finding a nearby location someone is happily on hand to assist them. Add a great location and a superb product to the mix and you have a hotel that can’t be beaten

What is there to do in the area?
Being located on the harbourside in the centre of the city puts the hotel at the heart of a thriving creative hub, with a short walking distance to cultural pursuits such as The Bristol Hippodrome, the Theatre Royal the Arnolfini art gallery and the M-Shed Museum, or local attractions including SS Great Britain, the Bristol Aquarium and At-Bristol. For shopping, choose between Cabot Circus which features all the latest high street brands or Park Street and Clifton village with small independent shops and lovely boutiques.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it is a full on affair here at The Bristol, with items ranging from smoothies to fruit compote, granola to yoghurt and of course the all important full English selection. Enjoy your breakfast overlooking the waterfront.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?
The River Grille restaurant has a great view overlooking the harbour and is open for Breakfast and Dinner 7 days a week together with lunch on a Sunday where a traditional roast awaits. For Dinner a Pre Theatre menu operates from 5.30pm to 6.45pm with a 3 course menu @ £18.50. In addition there is a full a la carte selection together with lots of Chef’s daily specials which are extremely popular. For those who wish to eat out there are many places on or around the harbour to eat, including Graze, The Olive Shed and The River Station.

Which are your most popular room types, and why?
Our preferred rooms are our deluxe rooms, as they offer great views across the harbour. In addition there is the addition of the use of a Nespresso machine, snuggly bathrobes and slippers and complimentary Mineral Water

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
We have around 20 rooms that are suitable for families with more than 1 double bed, or the addition of a sofa bed. In addition we can arrange for roll away beds and cots in rooms subject to availability too.

What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers?
