About Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is Monaco’s glittering heart, famed for its sea views, luxury lifestyle, and world-class casino. If you’re chasing five-star indulgence, the area around Casino Square is packed with glamorous hotels boasting rooftop pools, Michelin-star dining, and sweeping Mediterranean vistas. Down by the coast, you’ll discover chic resorts with private beaches and relaxed seaside vibes. Prefer something more low-key? Stylish boutique stays and family-friendly options can be found just outside the centre, offering comfort without sacrificing the Monte Carlo magic.

Monte Carlo may be small, but it’s bursting with glamour. With year-round sunshine and super-yachts lined up at Port Hercule, it’s the kind of place where you can indulge yourself and get a taste of how the other half lives. Whether it’s people-watching by the marina or soaking up the city’s glitzy vibe, it’s all about treating yourself. That said, its size makes it feel especially busy in summer and during the famous Grand Prix, when the crowds surge and hotel rooms are snapped up fast. If you’ve got your heart set on one of the best spots in town, the trick is to plan well ahead—luxury here is as much about timing as it is about splurging.

Travel Information

  • Ideally you’ll be arriving in Monte Carlo on your yacht. But if your yacht is having her keel hauled or suchlike you can also fly. Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport is closest, and it’s a large airport with good links to the UK and other European destinations. From there it’s about 15miles along the coast, and you can easily hire a helicopter to take you. Or a taxi. Or for approximately €4 you can take the train.
  • If you’re thinking about hiring a car we recommend checking what our online partners, Rentalcars have to offer.
  • Monte Carlo’s Mediterranean weather is one of its crowning glories, as well as being beautiful and wealthy it gets about 300 sunny days a year. In winter it’s mild and still sunny, and in summer it’s not even too hot, with maximum daily highs in the mid 20s between June and August. Basically there’s no bad time for it.
