“Designed in the 1940s by Cassiano Branco, a famous Portuguese Modernist architect, this hotel is a gem. Some floors are cork; others inlaid parquet. Art Deco fittings gleam. Bedrooms are large and comfortably furnished with marble period bathrooms. A library and cosy bar on the ground floor lend the whole the atmosphere of a private club. A lavish buffet breakfast is the only meal served, although there is 24-hour room service.”

“Hotel Britania is a pure Boutique Art Deco hotel in the historic center of Lisbon. The only surviving original Art Deco hotel in Lisbon, with a touch of modern whimsical nuances, this small hotel is unique. With large rooms, it's located in a quiet street just off Lisbon's main avenue Avenida da Liberdade.”
