About Wolfville

One of the most popular destinations in the Annapolis Valley, Wolfville is a small but progressive town. Home to Acadia University, each autumn the return of the students mushrooms the population from four thousand to six thousand. A town full of Victorian Architecture, not-for-profit organizations and premier restaurants, Wolfville has long walked the line between a boutique hamlet, a student town and an upscale tourist attraction. The best places to stay in Wolfville have taken to that unique atmosphere and you can find excellent hotels near upscale dining establishments, community theatres and student pubs.

Declared Canada’s first Fair Trade town in 2007, Wolfville is an enclave of environmentalists and activists. Several times a year, the town hosts talks by a variety of illustrious guests on a wide range of topics.

What Not to Miss

  • Autumn is the best time to view the changing colours of the leaves. The red, orange and yellow colours are so vivid that this yearly phenomenon draws people from around the globe.
  • At seventeen meters, the tidal bore of the Bay of Fundy is one of the largest in the world. Walk along the town’s riverside pathway and experience the might of the tide rushing against the Gaspereau River.
  • North Mountain and the Fundy Coast are home to some of the best food in Canada. Local favorites are freshly caught lobster in Halls Harbour and hand-picked apples in Canning.
