Hotel Review

COMO Metropolitan may be surrounded by Bangkok’s biggest skyscrapers, but it’s successfully carved out a zen-like sanctuary for its guests. The luxury chain hotel’s emphasis on sleek, simple interiors, natural woods and a neutral colour palette will please the design-focused traveler; for the more holistically-minded, a yoga mat in each room, complementary yoga classes in the morning and an elegant spa and gym promises to relax and recharge. On the ground floor, the unmissable Nahm restaurant - which clocked in at number seven in San Pellegrino’s list of the 50 best restaurants in Asia in 2016 - crafts beautiful dishes that pay tribute to the complexity of Thai cuisine. Chef David Thompson and his team don’t shy away from spice or sourness - the coconut and turmeric curry with blue swimmer crab is outstanding, as is the rather spicy scallop salad. Pair with a fresh cocktail - bliss.

Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok

The Metropolitan by COMO is a luxurious yet affordable option in Bangkok, offering spacious rooms with big, airy windows and huge, comfortable beds. Two very different restaurants vie for guests’ attention: one traditional Thai and one modern organic. It’s family-friendly, too.
