“A charming traditional property set in stunning surrounds. Contemporary clean lines meet rustic charm in the rooms with use of light woods and splashes of colours coming through in the curtains and bedspreads. An extensive spa and hearty regional cuisine. Plenty of outdoor activities. A rural haven.”

Hotel Review

Nestled on a high plateau in the Chiemgau Mountains on the German/Austrian border, Gut Steinbach is a charming traditional chalet-style property offering a range of both hotel and self catering accommodation. The 55 rooms may feel slightly old fashioned, what with their tartan carpets and plain wooden furnishings, but they provide a cosy sanctuary following a day exploring the stunning surroundings and the beds are really comfy. In addition to the main house there are other options available including seven smart chalets and three luxurious suites all of which are ideal for families. Restaurant Heimat serves regional Bavarian dishes and the style is both creative yet true to its country roots - you'll find lots of local herbs, freshly caught Kollerbach trout and game from the neighbouring hillsides. For those who like to indulge in complete relaxation the spa will not disappoint. There's a good sized pool with mountain views, a rustic sauna and tepidarium and wide range of massages and beauty treatments. The perfect foil to overexertion in the great outdoors! Gut Steinbach is ideal for families or couples wanting a relaxing stay with great food amid stunning scenery.
