Hotel Review

The former home of the Bucarelli family is now a quiet and contemporary apartment hotel in a local part of town, north of the tourist centre and close to loads of great tapas restaurants. There are 15 high-ceilinged simply decorated rooms of different sizes. Some have upstairs penthouse terraces, and gigantic bathrooms with his-and-hers sinks. The king beds are beyond comfortable – a big reason to book a stay here. Rooms are set above and around a pebbled orange-blossom scented courtyard with a small central trickling fountain, and tables and chairs set amid potted cypress trees. Next to it is a tiny, covered outdoor pool for escaping the afternoon heat, with fresh towels to hand next to vases of fresh roses. Off the courtyard is an honesty bar tucked into a gallery room with slouchy sofas. Rattan baskets filled with Ines Rosales olive oil biscuits and fresh peaches and plums for breakfast are left outside your door each morning. With no restaurant on site, and kitchens in rooms, common areas tend to be quiet which can feel you’ve the place to yourself.
