Hotel Review

After a complete re-furb Pera Palace is now a riot of plush scarlet and gold. The central hall is a comforting and welcoming library, with a fine cocktail bar attached. Loads of charisma, including an ancient lift. Most of the rooms are unglamorous but reasonably spacious and perfectly comfortable. Top floor rooms have sweet balconies. Beware extreme road noise on the west side (if you open your window). Not a peaceful backwater, but modestly-priced and glamour aplenty.
