“With views of the Aegean, delicious meals made from fresh local ingredients and spacious suites, Archipelagos All Suites is a peaceful and comfortable hideaway on the lively Greek island of Mykonos”

Hotel review

Sister of the nearby Archipelagos Hotel, Archipelagos All Suites is made up of 20 suites set against the rugged backdrop of the island’s rocky slopes and white-washed buildings. Situated high above the sandy Elia beach on the quieter south side of Mykonos, the hotel is a short drive from both the airport and port. Check-in involves a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade or prosecco, chocolate truffle and cooling flannel and, from the outset, guests are treated to a personal touch from the friendly staff. Suites are spacious and airy, with huge comfy beds, a pillow menu and most have a jacuzzi or private pool. Greek products feature all across the hotel, from the natural Apivita cosmetics in the bathrooms to Greek teas, wines and even an Aegean Negroni in the mini-bar. A series of steps wind their way about the property, taking guests around the minimalist landscaped grounds to the bar and restaurant, shaded seating areas and two small swimming pools. Pools have comfortable day beds for soaking up the sun, along with large beanbags. Natural stonework, woven raffia screens and neutral colours help the hotel blend in with its environment.

A couple of stepping stones lead across the water to the hotel’s restaurant, where both breakfast and other meals are served. Local produce is a prominent feature on all menus with breakfast highlights including Greek yoghurt with thyme honey, traditional Mykonian cheese pie with fresh herbs and olive oil, and Greek rice pudding. Guests after something more familiar will enjoy omelettes, pancakes and locally-baked brioches. Other meals include grilled meats, fish and home-grown vegetables, as well as fresh salads and Greek wines.

Each evening, the weather forecast for the following day is left on the bed, along with a sweet treat, such as a piece of crystallised fruit. The staff can make restaurant reservations and suggest beaches and other places to visit. The hotel is ten minutes’ walk down a (steep) road to the beach, so those
hoping to explore further afield will need a car. Spa treatments can be booked and there’s also a gym. It’s worth noting that Archipelagos All Suites only accepts families with children aged 12+ and, with all the steps, it is not the most accessible property.
