“A picturesque castle set between Dijon and Beaune, along the banks of the Burgundy Canal. Bright spacious rooms have a nice blend of classical and contemporary décor, and suites offer lovely views. There's a chic restaurant serving regional cuisine and new outdoor pool. A classic rural escape.”

Hotel review

A contemporary luxury hotel in the countryside of Burgundy with beautifully polished rooms set alongside the Burgundy canal, it is more than just a comfortable stay but an opportunity to live in history. Dating back to the 16th-century, aristocrats and well-heeled merchants have lived here but it is now a 5-star property under new owner, Séverine Pétilaire-Bellet, a hospitality veteran who has added finesse to this historical property which includes a brand new outdoor pool and terrace with sweeping views of Chateauneuf. Despite the property’s age everything in the chateau is well-maintained – from the period art and upholstered velvet chairs in the public areas to the colourful toile de Jouy wallpaper in the rooms and suites. All 23 rooms are unique with either four-poster beds, balcony or lounge area with a mix of designer and historical books on the bookshelf. The hotel has a bar with all the necessary aperitifs and Burgundy wines for wine-lovers and the restaurant is a nice evening where hotel guests gather for good hearty food.
