Another three-generation Basque landmark, Chez Chilo is well worth a detour to this verdant corner where Basque country meets Béarn. It’s a place of welcome, comfort and wonderful food, where the attractive building harmonizes with the surrounding village, with a delightful garden and children’s play area, and discreetly located swimming pool with mountain views. The dining room is the setting for Pierre Chilo’s exceptional cooking using the freshest and best of local produce straight from the market, and there’s also a cosy sitting room and bar, while the bedrooms are bright and friendly, without extravagance. Refreshing, reasonably priced, with a warm Basque welcome from Martine and Pierre.
