“Located but a few hundred metres from Jaipur's old city, Dera Mandawa boasts an enviable location. A traditional family-owned 'haveli' featuring eleven uniquely decorated suites. All of the colour and charm of old-world Rajasthan. Guests can try their hand at cooking, kite flying; even saree tying.”

Hotel review

Hidden behind an unassuming entrance, do not let Dera Mandawa's edifice deceive you. This family-run, family-owned ancestral property has been in the Singh family for generations. Their pride in their heritage shines through, and from mother to father, to their two daughters, all are a fountain of knowledge on Jaipur and the local area. Each of Dera Mandawa's eleven suites is unique. With hundred-year-old wooden carved pillars, the likes of which could not be replicated today, to more modern design quirks such as recycled railway sleepers on the ceiling. The decor throughout is striking. Bright murals and a splash of colour alongside handpicked textiles and artwork. It really is an interior design lover's dream. An airy courtyard, lined with bougainvillaea, sets the scene for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - all of which are enjoyed al-fresco throughout most of the year, weather permitting. The continental breakfast is just right and sets you up for a day in town, whilst you can also opt to try some local Indian breakfast dishes. Lunch and dinner and traditional Rajasthani, and the family are very proud of their culinary traditions. As much as possible is organic and locally sourced, whilst much of the milk comes from their own cows. You don't get much more local than that! A wonderful stay, offering so much more than meets the eye. A truly unique, comfortable, and welcoming stay in Jaipur. Unforgettable.
