“A desert oasis set within a 570 acre estate of olive groves and manicured gardens, this large-scale hotel offers 135 rooms, suites and villas. With a choice of in-house restaurants, 18-hole golf course, spa, fitness centre, kids’ club and swimming pools, this makes for the perfect all-round base.”

Hotel review

Scale and size are noticeable factors at this prestigious 5 star resort with its vast pillared entranceway leading into a 14 metre high lobby. Beyond the colossal doorways and lofty ceilings, the palatial architecture theme continues making you wonder if architect Jean-François Adam designed the pharaonic proportions with giants in mind.

The main building overlooks a 452-ft pool, with vast glass windows that give an indoor/outdoor feel. There’s a choice of four restaurants with a variety of food overseen by chef Guillame Galvez. The ornate Al Aïn dining room has a mezze menu fusing Lebanese and oriental dishes; Capricci serves delicious classic Italian gastronomy; and al fresco L’Olivier offers Mediterranean/Asian-inspired flavours. A further eatery, Le Sabra in the Country Club overlooks the 18-hole golf course has contemporary lunchtime plates and snacks. Breakfast is a veritable buffet feast with eggs to order and fresh, tasty coffee served in a tall glass. Service is friendly and professional.

A buggy transports guests and luggage to the suites which are in separate buildings within the grounds. Rooms have space with seating, generous marble en suite bathrooms, dressing area and private balcony. Luxurious beds (covered in rose petals) are notably comfortable with soft Nomite pillows.

With everything on site, from golf to fitness, there’s plenty to do and different areas to hang out in. Take a walk or rent a bike to check out the environs, play tennis or simply unwind with a glorious dual massage - side by side with your holiday companion. Heaven…
