Hotel Review

After a multi-million euro restoration, the Florence Four Seasons finally opened in June 2008. Standing in the unique, 8-acre Giardino della Gherardesca, the hotel occupies a magnificent Renaissance palazzo complete with frescoes, elaborate stucco work and sculptures. Grand public spaces surround a graceful courtyard while the fine restaurant is housed in a cool vaulted room overlooking the gardens. Facilities include a gorgeous outdoor pool, a spa and fitness centre. Many of the discreetly luxurious bedrooms and suites overlook the grounds. Although it’s not bang in the centre, it’s worth the walk to stay here.
