“A trendy floating hotel offering both a chic city pad and the opportunity to give back. A social enterprise that originated in Amsterdam and is now set up in London's Victoria Docks. Expect industrial contemporary cool style, great restaurant, fantastic and friendly staff and a lively rooftop bar.”

Hotel review

What elevates Good Hotel beyond a basic bolthole is its mission: every night funds a week of schooling for a child, plus strong commitments to sustainability. Add to that, sheer convenience - a very generous breakfast buffet, outstandingly good connections via DLR and Elizabeth Line to central London, and Excel London practically next door. The O2 is a joyful cable car ride across the water.

Rooms are compact and no frills, with the odd scuff mark or wobbly handrail. You feel good knowing funds go toward the mission, not expensive design details. It's a crash pad with a conscience, perfect for gig-goers, or anyone fancying a quirky waterfront base that does good while they sleep. On that note, walls are a little thin, but earplugs and worry dolls found on pillows work wonders.

Good is in our name because it is in our nature. Good Hotel is a social business, meaning we reinvest our profits to help people realise their potential. Whether that is funding education for children who would otherwise miss out, or creating new opportunities for adults to retrain in hospitality, it all starts with a stay. The more people stay with us, the more good we can do.

Good Hotel

An erstwhile Dutch detention centre has docked in London. Inside it’s a study in counterculture-chic: think a concrete palace of up-cycled furnishings, where guests in oversized headphones play with complimentary iPads and fork at plates of okra and chips. Expect a sun-snaring rooftop bar and stupendous Thames views.
