The oldest tenement house in the whole of Gdansk and with a lineage dating back to 1453, it is hard not to simply gape in awe at this architectural wonder. With arched doors and old murals painted along the walls, old manuscripts on display in glass casing and its very own museum, Gotyk House is in a league of her own. However, it is a place where modernity teases the dusty past: while all rooms are kitted-out with antique furniture, the bathrooms are effortlessly modern, clean and bright, with peach-tinted tiles, and there is wifi and a flatscreen TV in each room. Breakfast is served in the cafeteria every morning but it can be delivered to your room, and there is a terrace where guests can sit and while away the hours while drinking in the views of Gdansk. Car, bike and kayak rental is possible via the reception, perfect if you wish to explore the nooks, crannies and waterways of this old city.
