“This luxury countryside estate has rooms, suites and now family villas for the most comfortable stay in Burgundy. A 800-bottle wine cellar, wellness area with plunge pool and sauna, as well as an outdoor lap pool make it an idyllic rural French escape”

Hotel review

Located just 10-minutes from Beaune, this luxurious countryside retreat is one for foodies, wine-lovers and wellness seekers. Well-heeled Parisians travel from the city to this well-polished 18th-century estate and here everything is provided for the most enjoyable weekend getaway with friends – play golf on the neighbouring course, walk around the old city of Beaune or simply jump on a bike and taste some of Burgundy’s best wines, the property is a great base. But linger at Hostellerie de Levenois as long as you can because it has everything you need. There are 32 rooms and suites, as well as 7 brand new luxury villas which can host large families and come with their own private balcony, sauna and kitchenette with free mini bar of non-alcoholic drinks. The property is spread out over 7 hectares which includes a vegetable garden, greenhouse, new expansive wellness spa with hamman, sauna, plunge pool and indoor pool, but the piece de resistance is the outdoor swimming pool. This is a place for gastronomy and there is a fine-dining restaurant for the evening with a very impressive cheese chariot (not trolley!) but the more casual Bistrot du Bord de l’Eau is impressive and one for great atmosphere with locals dining in too, friendly service and delicious elevated Burgundian specialties. Don’t miss it.

Hostellerie de Levernois, Burgundy: hotel review

Luxury and history under one roof. The hostellerie is immaculately looked after and so are the guests. A member of the Relais & Chateaux group, it also has an extremely fine Michelin-starred restaurant and a cellar with 8,000 wines.
