Hotel Review

Surrounded by Umbria’s viridescent hills, dotted with ancient oaks and olive trees, the medieval village of Montone rises before the eyes of approaching travellers. La Locanda del Capitano, meaning 'The Inn of the Captain' is a 14th century ancestral family home. Its elevated vantage point makes the most of breathtaking vistas, as far as the eye can see. With ten charming bedrooms, restored to provide guests with an intimate and peaceful stay yet with every modern comfort. Bedrooms are individually decorated and are filled with antique family heirlooms. During the pleasant summer months breakfast and dinner are served out on the veranda. Every meal is cooked with love by celebrity chef Giancarlo Polito. His philosophy is to retrieve the foundation of Italian cooking by designing dishes that celebrate the country’s culinary traditions. Pair these masterpiece meals with an excellent choice of regional and national wine and you have the recipe for an unforgettable dining experience.
