Standing in the centre of Beziers, in a 1 hectare private park, La Villa Guy is a patch of green amidst a sea of grey. With almost Napoleonic levels of grandeur, both in and outside the house, guests can be expected to be treated to sumptuous levels of luxury. With artworks by the likes of Magrou and Injalbert, archaic Moorish fountains and antique furniture to rival a palace, the hotel is an island of comfort and tranquillity, and an ideal place to explore the city from. Far from traditional regal pomp and glamour, the rooms are decorated in a colourful minimalist style with contemporary designer furniture and amenities. All rooms come with A/C, wifi, a flatscreen TV, bathroom and a private lounge. The gym and wellness centre on the property are worthy of note, boasting a sauna, Turkish bath and a whole host of beauty treatments. Not far from the city centre, it is an ideal starting point for exploring the city: Beziers Cathedral is a short walk away and the Canal du Midi, that runs through the city, is wonderful to stroll by in the shade of trees. The Feria de Beziers, a bullfighting festival held every August and attended by millions, is worth checking out.
