Surrounded by San Francisco-steep streets in the peaceful suburbs of Mets and just around the corner from marble monuments and celebrity tombs (including actress Melina Mercouri) in the First Cemetery of Athens, this boutique retreat enjoys stunning views of the Acropolis, but without the madding crowds. Behind a discreet doorway, 11 self-catering suites (most with those Acropolis views) are stylishly decked out with low wooden tables, large screen TVs, comfortable leather-backed seating, king beds and floor-to-ceiling glass windows – some also have recamier-style sofas. Cosiness is heightened by elegant bibelots and carefully curated books on shelves. Bathrooms have tiled floors, trough sinks and powerful rain showers, and kitchens are well equipped with utensils and full ovens. Two suites have delightful bamboo-shaded outdoor areas with handsome black-marble-lined jetted tubs, perfect for recovering after a long hot day out on Athens' bustling streets. There’s even a plant-surrounded roof garden with pool.

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood yet just moments from the city center, the hotel offers the rare balance of calm and connection. What is there to do in the area? Mets is a charming, village-like neighbourhood with a relaxed, local feel. Guests enjoy wandering its quiet streets, discovering beautiful cafés and traditional tavernas, and soaking up the authentic atmosphere. The area is also perfectly located, just a short walk from the Panathenaic Stadium, the National Garden and the Acropolis, making it ideal for both leisurely strolls and sightseeing.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? Breakfast is offered in the form of a tailor-made, engraved wooden breakfast box, included in the price or available as an add-on. Boxes are delivered daily between 8:00 and 11:00 am. Guests choose from three breakfast options, plus a children’s menu and a gluten-free menu. Orders are placed the night before to ensure everything arrives fresh each morning.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We don’t offer other meals, but each room has a snack box for guests to enjoy. We’re always happy to provide personalized recommendations for dining out. Some of our favorite local spots for authentic Greek food include Meigma, Dodeka Piata, Plyta, and Giagia Koukou.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our most popular rooms are those with Acropolis views. Each features a fourth wall made entirely of glass, offering unobstructed, spectacular views of the Acropolis — a truly memorable backdrop that guests love from morning to night.

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Kids are very welcome at Monastik. We can provide a cot or an extra bed, and all rooms have a sofa that can be used as a bed. With these options, rooms can comfortably accommodate up to four people.
