Hotel review

You know this hotel is different as soon as you walk in the door. A comfy sitting room with generous squashy sofas gives you the feeling of coming home. Genuinely nice reception staff carry that feeling on. Three levels of room – Comfy, Fancy and Swanky. Comfy rooms are about a hundred square feet with a window that opened (heaven) and curtains that closed (more heaven). Reasonable bed with expensive sheets and (unusual in a small London hotel) a real bath with Molton Brown soaps. Cafetiere and fresh ground coffee in the room, and a handy breakfast buffet downstairs in the morning. Five minutes walk from Baker Street tube, and a £5 taxi from Paddington station make this a great first stop from Heathrow. The area is upmarket, in a quiet street. So, a good night’s sleep on offer.
