Sitting on Praça da Figueira, this hotel has an excellent central location. All the main sights are within walking distance, but the soundproofed rooms mean that the apartments themselves are an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel occupies a former merchant's house, and there are nods to Portugal's imperial past in some of the apartments' soft furnishings. The interior design is modern and uncluttered, with wooden floors and lots of bright living space. The landmark suite is a particular delight, with an original, exposed-stone vaulted ceiling. The hotel has a communal area in the form of a beautiful library with antiques and cultural artefacts overlooking the square. Usefully, there is also a laundry room which guests are free to use, which could come in handy for a longer stay or for guests with children. Overall, these apartments offer smart, stylish city accommodation.
