“A seafront hotel in the southern resort of Argassi. Its interiors feature calming stone tones, wicker furniture, and soft, woven textures. An ideal base for a family holiday, with spacious rooms, a jelly bean-shaped pool and an excellent restaurant on-site”

Hotel review

Argassi was an area beloved by Venetian nobility when they ruled over this island (also known by its Italian name, Zante) between the 15th and 18th centuries – and you can see why. It’s only a short hop into Zakynthos Town and its palm-fringed shores are lapped by the warm waters of the Ionian sea. On Argassi’s quiet outskirts is the lovely Windmill Bay Hotel, where every room has a sea view. Completely refurbished in 2022, decor echoes the pale stone colour of the coast, with wicker chairs and woven soft fabrics adding welcome character and texture. All bathrooms feature showers and upmarket Olivera toiletries, though some rooms have hot tubs – book one on the ground floor and you’ll be able to relax in the bubbles while supervising children swimming in the pool. Staff are friendly and welcoming, greeting returning guests like old friends. Don’t miss dinner at Anadalis, the romantically-set Mediterranean-Japanese restaurant.
