Social climbing is de rigueur at Manchester’s Abode hotel: the higher your room, the more lavish the experience. Moving through the floors from Comfortable to Enviable, the apartment-style rooms of Fabulous on Fifth are the piece de resistance. Converted from a Victorian cotton merchant's warehouse and packed with period character, the hotel retains the high ceiling and Grade II-listed staircase of the original structure. Back to ground level and the Brasserie Abode Bar; topped up with imaginative cocktails, creates a weekend hotspot with live music to pick up the party mood. The plush lower-level Brasserie Abode features an all-day menu, perfect whether you're peckish for a light lunch or looking for that contemporary/comfort mix when dining with friends.
