Hotel Review

Dotted amongst pomegranate, lime and olive trees all beautifully underplanted with roses and geraniums are three well-designed villas with great outdoor space, each with a roof terrace and plunge pool. The Garden Suite creates a cool laid back base and the owners Francis and his wife, artist Dawn Boys-Stones have come up with a unique and fabulous build concept for their Berber styled Eco Suites complete with wet rooms using empty wine bottle bases set into window apertures for dappled window light. These eco huts have plenty of room inside and are built using recycled plastic bottles filled with sand, covered with Pise (local plaster made from earth & straw) and topped with a straw parasol shaped canopy supported by what was once, part of a telegraph pole. The overall resort layout works perfectly for a party venue or individual private family holidays. Children of all ages feel at home with the donkeys and dogs for additional company. The pools provide the perfect cooling off spot following the heat of the Marrakech Medina, especially as the bar is within stepping distance and is well-stocked complete with imaginative cocktails & fruit smoothies. Dine alfresco with a choice of delicious traditional Moroccan cuisine or Mediterranean fare. There is also an interior bar and lounging zone surrounded by open fires for those chillier winter evenings. Steps take you up to a roof terrace above with cosy cushioned corners made for Atlas mountain views. Siestas are the order of the day so numerous shady day beds, bean bags or open Berber style huts are popular. The vibe is Moroccan to the core.
