“Tucked under the palms in lovely Majorda, Vivenda is the sort of spot that invites guests to return again & again. A quirky hideaway in a heritage house with antique furnishings & patterned textiles in each individually decorated rooms, it oozes timeless charm. Friendly, romantic & laid-back. ”

Hotel review

Vivenda's century-old Portuguese façade welcomes guests up wide steps and into elegant reception rooms. Behind this imposing villa — which houses two of the hotel's eight rooms, as well as a large dining and sitting room — is the older Hindu part of the house. Made of rammed earthen walls, this original building offers three further bedrooms, and has a wonderfully warm feel. Dotted around the grounds, the final three bedrooms include a small cottage and an impressive tent. Quirky and individually decorated, each includes vintage furnishings, stacks of books and nods to Goa’s fascinating history.

Long, lazy breakfasts are enjoyed with fellow guests — and lovely owners Simon and Charlotte — on the shaded terrace, and days spent soaking up the sunshine poolside, cycling to the beach or touring the beautiful heritage residences and independent breweries of South Goa.

Generous gin & tonics, cold Goan beers and more are offered by the friendly team at the brightly painted bar, and flavoursome regional fare awaits in the evening. Oozing character, Vivenda will delight couples, groups of friends and families alike. This is a very special spot!
