Tatai is a village on the picturesque Tatai river in south west Cambodia, some 32 kilometres from the Thai border. This is truly a destination to get away from it all and the best places to stay in Tatai enable you to do just that!
Situated on the southern coast of the country this is an area that remains relatively undiscovered and undeveloped. It lies at the foot of the Cardamom mountains and is forty minutes by road from Koh Kong and a further fifteen minutes by boat. Tourism is in its infancy.
The Tatai river runs through miles of unspoilt rainforest with many waterfalls and beaches. It's a stunning river with its glassy calm water, mangroves and all the sights and sounds of the surrounding jungle - allegedly home to rhinos, tigers and elephants.
This is a great place to escape and a favourite of honeymooners. There is no internet or mobile phone connections, only total peace and seclusion in the midst of nature. Kayaking on the river is a popular pastime as is fishing. Long tail boats are available for trips along the river and to the waterfall - a beautiful spectacle and also somewhere to swim and relax - a panacea for all the stresses of everyday modern life!
