About Tuscany

Tuscany, Italy’s most enchanting region, dazzles with golden hills, vineyard-draped valleys, Renaissance cities, and medieval villages that feel frozen in time. Staying here is just as magical, with hotels to suit every traveller: romantic castles and vineyard resorts for couples, stylish design stays in Florence for culture lovers, or charming family-friendly hotels around Siena. If you’re after tranquility, head to the coast or countryside farmhouses—Tuscany’s hotel scene makes it easy to match your dream escape.

Some of our Tuscan Collections:

Tuscany is made for wandering and wonder. You can lose yourself in Florence, gazing up at the breathtaking Il Duomo, browsing world-class galleries, or lingering over a coffee in a sunny piazza before strolling across the Ponte Vecchio. Siena invites you to step inside its dramatic striped cathedral and explore winding medieval streets, while Pisa is all about that iconic, slightly askew tower that everyone loves to photograph. For a slower pace, head to the hilltop towns of Montepulciano or San Gimignano, where cobbled lanes, centuries-old towers, and endless vineyard views create the perfect backdrop for a lazy afternoon of exploring, sipping wine, or simply soaking it all in.

Whether you’re here for art and architecture, history and culture, or just the joy of wandering through landscapes straight out of a Renaissance painting, Tuscany offers something unforgettable at every turn.

For an apartment or villa

  • A holiday villa or apartment is often the best option if you're travelling with family or in a group of friends. For a wide range from budget bolthole to chic retreat, we recommend the selection with our online partner Booking.com.

Travel information

  • Pisa Airport is Tuscany’s largest; it’s well served by both the low-cost carriers and the big international airlines. It’s also well connected to most other main towns — except Siena — by a fast train service. Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci international airport is another option, but has more limited connections.
  • If you want to hire a car — which we strongly advise if you’re staying in Tuscany and want to get out and about exploring — we recommend you visit our online partner Rentalcars.
  • Tuscany is large and varied, so it’s difficult to generalise about the best time to visit. But broadly speaking Tuscany is popular, but very hot and very busy, during the summer months — especially August; quieter, and with pleasant weather in spring; stunning in autumn; quite cool and dark, but still beautiful in winter — especially around Christmas.
