About Kotor

What are the best hotels in Kotor?

For a town of its size, Kotor has an unusually strong selection of places to stay. From atmospheric boutique hotels tucked inside the medieval Old Town to polished five star retreats and spa hotels scattered around the Bay of Kotor. Hotel Cattaro is one of our favourites; set right in the heart of the Old Town across three beautifully restored 18th century buildings, it offers historic character, comfortable rooms and a prime position overlooking the main square. For a more secluded stay by the bay, Hotel Forza Terra is another standout, with contemporary interiors, an impressive spa, excellent restaurant and stunning waterfront setting. Of all the hotels on our list, these are the two we'd choose first.

Kotor’s timeless appeal lies in its mix of natural beauty, history, and culture. You can climb the fortress walls for sweeping views, wander alleyways echoing with centuries of Venetian influence, or duck into tiny churches that whisper old secrets. Being based in the Old Town puts you just steps from museums, bustling squares, and the odd pop-up jazz gig. For a laid-back day, hop between waterfront cafés or enjoy fresh oysters at a restaurant tucked beneath medieval arches. For a livelier scene, the bars along the marina buzz into the evening. Wherever you stay, Kotor makes it easy to balance discovery with downtime.
