Famous for its healing springs, mineral waters and fresh air, Dilijan is Armenia’s gateway to the wild northern Tavush region. Set on a hillside above that mountain town, Dilijani Tun enjoys panoramic views across a forested landscape. The property embraces a distinctly local architectural style, with  stone, timber and traditional Armenian decorative motifs—prints, mosaics, and carpets—to create an atmosphere that feels authentic to its surroundings while still providing plenty of comfort.

Built against a wooded slope, the hotel is warm and informal rather than overtly luxurious. The simplest rooms are modest yet large, with wooden furnishings, balconies or terraces that maximise light and the surrounding mountain scenery. Multi-room townhouses include fireplaces and kitchens, reinforcing the hotel’s cosy appeal during colder months. The highest placement is given over to multi-level suites with their own private pools. Bringing everything together is a large central garden, with fire-pits and tall trees, which encourages guests to spend time outdoors amid the quiet natural setting.

The on-site Takhta restaurant focuses on Armenian cuisine and regional wine (the Tavush region is famous for its sparkling and white varieties). The chill, vinyl-enthusiastic bar is probably the most comfortable in Dilijan. 

Overall, Dilijani Tun is particularly suited to outdoorsy travellers seeking hiking, monastery visits and easy access to Dilijan National Park (the hotel can arrange such excursions) while staying somewhere that offers a hot, relaxing soak at the end of the day.
