Hotel review

On the east side of Kas’s yacht and fishing boat harbour, just a few hundred yards from the seafront shops, cafés and restaurants, the Gardenia is uncompromisingly modern, with in-room facilities such as minibar, satellite TV, and rain showers. Outside, blue canvas couches and wicker armchairs under white canvas umbrellas overlook the sea on a marble terrace; at sea level, there are sun loungers and access to the clear blue water of the bay. If your budget will stretch, go for a suite with a private sea-view terrace; otherwise, insist on a sea-front room – the standard rooms are perfectly well equipped but lack that extra sparkle that a sea view gives.
