“Located in a medieval square this 13th century property is part of the history of Bergamo. Minimal rooms with neutral palettes create a modern, organic look using natural materials. Sculptures and quirky accents like a library ceiling clad in books inject colour. A regional breakfast is served.”

Hotel Review

From the outside, GombitHotel blends seamlessly with its Medieval surroundings. Hotel owner, Nadia Galeotti, envisions this property as a space for local artisans and creative types to come together. A purveyor of the arts she displays their creations in the communal spaces of the hotel. These works often reference other artistic mediums such as a sculpture of rolled manuscripts and a collection of bright red books in the library. Designer Giò Pozzi faced the task of bringing this 13th century building, so intwined with the local history, into the 21st century. He did so with style and sympathy and rooms blend original exposed brick and stone work with modern furnishings, light palettes and soft, handwoven fabrics. The two level suite is a masterpiece and with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms is ideal for small families. Breakfast and other meals are served in the Tower Lounge where the juxtaposition of old and new continues with design features such as transparent, perspex chairs; artwork and silverware decorating the walls. A rustic breakfast is served with local pastries instead of the usual continental spread. With its stylish interiors and proximity to art galleries and museums, this hotel is ideal for guests with an eye for design.
