“A grand icon in the heart of Yerevan, this historic hotel blends neoclassical charm with modern refinement. Inside, expect high ceilings, elegant columns, and soft, neutral tones that exude timeless sophistication. A spa, rooftop pool, and top-tier dining elevate the experience.”

Hotel review

Occupying a prominent position on Abovyan Street, the Grand Hotel Yerevan styles itself as “a museum you can live in.” As one of the Armenian capital’s most established luxury addresses, it has the historical bona fides: originally opened in the early twentieth century, the property retains much of its classical European atmosphere, with marble floors, chandeliers, and richly furnished inner atrium-cum-bar, lending the hotel an air of old-world formality.

Rooms are traditionally styled, and though the “classic” rooms are somewhat poky, the higher-category suites offer balconies and city views. Several prominent Armenian artists made the hotel their home in the past, and those quarters are fitted with the trappings of their craft: original art, and the paraphernalia such as antique writing desks, typewriters, and statuary.

Like many high-end restaurants in Yerevan, the restaurant, Nairi, has an Italian focus, and in the summer months, it spreads out onto Charles Aznavour Square. Other local sites, such as Republic Square, the Opera House, museums, cafés, and many of central Yerevan’s principal cultural attractions, are all within walking distance, making the property an excellent base for first-time visitors.

Staff are professional and experienced, reflecting the hotel’s longstanding reputation within the city. The overall atmosphere is classic rather than contemporary, appealing particularly to business travellers and guests seeking a full-service hotel with heritage character in the centre of Yerevan.
