“A lovingly restored 1890s mansion with restaurant and bar in Tannersville, by Hunter Mountain and Kaaterskill Falls. Modern touches, authentic details - live DJs, wood-burning stove, vintage furnishings, no TVs. You’ll leave with new friends”

Hotel review

The unofficial living room of Tannersville, this imposing Victorian building with stained-glass windows and a huge stretch of lawn draws locals and visitors to clink craft beers by the fire. Find original woodwork, a spiral sculpted staircase, intricate cherry wood panelling, and stained glass flooding rooms with natural light. Antique furniture, art, and an old-school jukebox complete the scene.

The small team of longtime friends quickly makes you feel like one of them (live-in manager Chris might surprise you with a molten chocolate s'mores skillet if he gets wind of a birthday). Live music provides the perfect backdrop to elevated sharing plates - maple-roasted carrot salad, elote with cotija and Tajín, wild mushroom curry - alongside handcrafted cocktails and a great wine list.

Reception can be unmanned (there's pool to play while you wait), and common areas are locked from 10pm to 8am. Eighteen unique rooms, including bunk beds for families and dog-friendly decks, feature incredibly comfortable beds. Breakfast offers fresh croissants, cheese, berries, oats, yoghurt, salmon or ham, while Partners coffee flows freely. An outdoor pool, fire pit, and heated deck round out a cosy stay, whatever the season.
