Building on their two existing clinics in the Algarve, the acclaimed wellness group, Longevity, have now opened a flagship hotel in Alvor in partnership with neighbouring private hospital, Hospital Particular, allowing them to offer an impressively wide range of treatments. This is Portugal’s most advanced clinic, dealing in preventative, regenerative and personalised medicine with the help of their new state of the art technology. From leading osteopath Ricardo Rosa who has long created a name for himself to an Iyashi Dôme, which delivers an intense detox whilst sculpting the body to ozone therapy and hyperbaric medicine to aesthetic and holistic treatments this is a clinic which has something for everyone. Stays start with panoply of evaluations which allows a meal plan to be provided for you by the nutritionist and a wellness plan tailored to suit your needs.
Set within sight of the sea in a small white-washed fishing village, the hotel has a gym, a small rooftop pool, and a wet area which comprises a plunge pool with jets, a hammam and a flotation tank. Massages by the skilled Beatriz are not to be missed. There are two restaurants; Mediterrânico on the ground floor which serves traditional Portuguese dishes such as octopus with sweet potatoes and Pure Café on the rooftop with tuna tataki, and a range of snacks and sandwiches. Unlike some health clinics wine is available and allowed. Try the red Barranco Longo.
Bedrooms are functional but comfortable underlining that this is a clinic with bedrooms rather than a hotel with wellness attached. Many come with balconies and sea views. Spacious bathrooms are fitted with showers rather than tubs and come with Portus Cale amenities.
