Housed within a former flour mill, the Moagem Industrial Lodge is a bold, adaptive reuse project that retains the physical memory of its manufacturing past. Original machinery, exposed stonework and scoured metal structures are preserved and integrated throughout the property, including the rooms; the softest thing by far are the Hästens beds. The 17-room property offers varied accommodation, from minimalist doubles to expansive penthouse suites with large balconies, all featuring specific pieces related to machine-works. Facilities centre around a strong experiential offering: a fire-led, open-kitchen restaurant with seasonal Alentejan cuisine, and a dining room kitted out with cafeteria-style tableware. The wellness area, with indoor pool and sauna, stands out for its normality. Sustainability is embedded through energy and water systems.
