“A 5-star retreat on Portugal’s Cascais coast. Interiors mix classic elegance with warm, marble-accented rooms. Four dining options and an historic bar complement the golf course and Asian-inspired spa. Refined yet relaxed.”

Hotel review

From the moment you arrive, The Palacio Estoril Hotel exudes regal elegance and charming warmth. Steeped in history, this opulent hotel has retained many of its original features, from the sweeping staircase in the lobby to the ornate detailing throughout. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, blending classic style with modern touches. Many of the rooms overlook the peaceful gardens and pool, a tranquil retreat that feels a world away from the busy town of nearby Cascais. The location is superb — just a stone’s throw from the seaside promenade and a pleasant short walk into the centre of Cascais. For those seeking entertainment, Estoril Casino is practically next door, and golfers will appreciate the close proximity to Estoril Golf Course.

Located in a separate building, The Banyan Tree Spa, offers an exceptional wellness experience. Facilities include a sauna, Turkish bath, hammam, sensation showers, and a large pool with multiple jet streams and water pressure systems— the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring the coast or playing a round of golf. All in all, Palacio Estoril combines historic charm, refined comfort, and attentive hospitality in one of Portugal’s most elegant seaside locations. A classic, timeless escape that beautifully balances grandeur with genuine warmth."

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel?  Guests that stay at the Palácio love its history, 95 years, its relation with James Bond (he was born here in the Hotel Palácio!!!!) and the personalized and attentive service.

What is there to do in the area?  The area of Estoril and Cascais is beautiful. You have the best of both worlds here. There is the city of Lisbon only 20 minutes away, with great cultural places and lots of entertainment and then the beaches and the golf courses and great dining and wining!

What kind of breakfast do you offer?  We offer a great buffet breakfast that is included for all the guests. It has a great variety of hot and cold dishes, as well as a vegetarian corner.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally?  Yes, we have 2 restaurants, The Bougainvillea Terrace, which is an all day dining, opened every day from 9:00AM to 11:00PM where you can have a snack or a full meal and we also have our fine dining restaurant – the Grill Four Seasons, which is opened form Tuesday to Saturday, from 7:30 to 10:30PM.

The town of Cascais, 5 minutes away, a former fisherman’s village is known for its great fish and seafood restaurants, which are considered the best in all the Lisbon area.

Which are your most popular room types, and why?  Our most popular rooms in the hotel are the Superior Deluxe Rooms. They are located in the 5th floor (the top floor of the hotel) and they have a beautiful balcony with a great view over the sea and the bay of Cascais

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?  Children are very welcome at the Palácio. We can put cots or extra beds in most of the rooms categories and we have special amenities for the children. During July and August we have a Kids Club operating all day.

What message would you like to give The Hotel Guru readers?  I would like to tell the Guru Readers that staying at the Palácio Estoril is an unforgettable experience in a beautiful Palace Hotel full of history, glamour and charm.
