“With its dramatic hilltop setting this micro-village in the Italian Apennines stays true to its past. Exposed beams and stone walls, candlelit dining rooms; it's the huge baths, luscious toiletries and wifi throughout that add modern luxury. Similarly, the menu is traditional and locally sourced. ”

Hotel review

Whilst this property might not be for everyone, for those that would like to get away or enjoy an eco-adventure - you will love it. As you approach along the cobbled road, modernity ebbs away. Set amidst a former medieval agricultural village, with views across the surrounding mountain range, this property oozes historic charm. Enter your room with the clink of a huge iron key and you will be pleasantly surprised by the 'rustic-chic' decor. Although, there is nothing primitive about the handwoven rugs and throws not to mention immersive baths and remote controlled underfloor heating. However the wool mattress might not be to everyones taste. Some include fireplaces and spacious living areas. The Superior Rooms have private entrances and some with private balconies. From the staff to the produce the property's emphasis is on sustainability, both environmental and local. There is an excellent village life feel and you can take part in cooking classes, walks in the countryside, stick your nose in one of the library's many books or enjoy a knock about on the hotel's tennis court.

Whatever your taste, this hotel is a one off and far more than simply a place to rest your head; it is a medieval experience in itself!
