"Sublime Samaná is located just a short drive from the lively beach town of Las Terrenas. From the moment you arrive, there is a feeling of total calm and luxury. The architecture is chic and modern without feeling over the top, and everything blends beautifully with the surrounding tropical landscape. You are greeted by an incredible, vast rattan roofed dome in the reception area, decorated with big comfy sofas and tasteful wooden furniture. Walking to your room is a memorable moment in itself; a member of staff escorts you through the palm tree lined atrium, as you catch the first glimpse of the elongated pool with cabanas that lead all the way to the beach.

The accommodation is incredibly spacious and feels much more like a private holiday home than a typical hotel room. The suites come with one or two bedrooms, generous living areas, fully equipped kitchens and balconies that look out over the whole property and gardens. For families or larger groups, the casitas are an even better option, with multiple bedrooms, indoor and outdoor living spaces, rooftop terraces, private hot tub and BBQ areas. Fresh fruit plates delivered to your room, along with cold drinks in the fridge and toiletries from the White Company are a lovely touch.

The Coconut Whispers Spa is one of the standout parts of this resort. Many of the therapies take inspiration from the coconut, using its natural properties in treatments designed to leave you feeling totally refreshed. There is also a more laid-back Beach Spa, where treatments take place just steps from the ocean.

The food is another highlight, with a strong focus on fresh local ingredients and seafood from the surrounding area. Breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed at the beachfront restaurant La Palapa, where light dishes, tropical drinks and fresh coconuts are served right next to, or even on the sand as you sunbathe. In the evenings, the Bistro offers a more refined dining experience in a stylish setting, while the adults-only dining space provides a quieter atmosphere for couples. The lounges and bars are just as inviting, whether you want to enjoy a cocktail overlooking the pools before dinner or relax with a cigar by the beach at sunset.

There are lots of amazing facilities here, from the gym, tennis and basketball courts, complimentary yoga sessions, table tennis, kids’ playground and pool. Water sports like kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling and catamaran sailing are all available, making it easy to get out on the water. The resort also organises excursions to some of the area's biggest attractions, including El Limón Waterfall, Los Haitises National Park and seasonal whale watching tours. Special touches like beach BBQs and family-friendly activities give plenty of reasons to stay busy, although doing absolutely nothing here is just as appealing. "
